Open ringing

Throughout the closure of the church building the bells have rung regularly, a very audible reminder that the church is still active behind the contractor’s fence. So we put on some special ringing to accompany the SpaceForAll open day on 4th March. We were joined in a quarter peal of Plain Bob Major by ringers from St Paul’s, Hurst, Easthampstead and Arborfield. For one of them, 15 year old James Moynihan from Arborfield, it was his first quarter peal on eight bells and his first ringing a working bell. James and his mother have been attending our practices to help develop their ringing since as one of the stronger bands in the area we can offer opportunities they don’t have at their home tower.

There is a published record of the performance at: bb.ringingworld.co.uk/view.php?id=1599891
